Clark Street Capital GM Invitational Hits Chicago

Print

Chicago Chess Center is proud to present the Clark Street Capital Grandmaster Invitational on April 12th – 16th. The event features some of the worlds’ best chess players as well as up and coming, promising Chicagoans. The event features GM’s Ilya Smirin (former Israeli champion) Nikola Mitkov, Vladimir Georgiev, and Priyadharshan Kannappan.

This is the first event of its kind in the city of Chicago in the last decade, and it gives our young chess players the opportunity to compete and win international titles.

This event is being graciously sponsored by our friend Jon Winick of Clark Street Capital.

The event will be generously hosted by Avant, at their headquarters in Chicago located at 222 N. LaSalle Drive.

Unfortunately, we do not have enough space to invite spectators from the general public. Games and standings will be published daily via the Chicago Chess Center website.

The Chicago Chess Center works to create an open and welcome gathering place, focusing of a vibrant, expanding chess scene. A place where young people can receive high-quality chess teaching in a safe and friendly environment. A place where curious beginners and experience-seekers can discover chess as an enjoyable and beneficial activity that everyone can participate in. A place that restores Chicago’s standing among great American chess cities.
