Dolson, Rhodes, Brock run for reelection; metro VP, secretary slots open, write-in candidates sought

ICA President Carl Dolson, Downstate Vice President Murrel Rhodes and Treasurer Bill Brock are standing for reelection to the ICA Executive Board.

No nominating petition was received for the position of Metro Vice President or Secretary, leaving those offices open to write-in candidates.

Should someone be interested in serving as an officer -- or upon any of the ICA's advisory committees (appointed by the President) -- current board members can be contacted through email as listed on the ICA site.

Metro Vice President Mike Cardinale is completing his second term and announced he will not seek re-election. For the all-important Secretary office, Keith Ammann declined to seek election to a full term after stepping up to the plate as interim secretary earlier this year.

For a write-in vote to be counted, the candidate must be a resident of Illinois, must be a current member of the ICA and must be willing to serve in the position.

Members are asked to confirm another member's willingness to serve before casting a write-in vote for that member. To be elected, a write-in candidate must receive a majority of all votes cast for the particular office.

Terms are for two years beginning January 1, 2015.

Ballots will be sent by Nov. 10 to all ICA members eligible to vote. It is hoped that online voting will be available as another alternative, stay tuned.
