Presented by the Kenosha Chess Association and the Kenosha Public Library

Saturday, February 20, 2016, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Southwest Library, 7979 38th Ave, Kenosha 262-564-6130

Format: a Swiss-style tournament. Each player will play five games of chess. There is no elimination. Time control is Game/25 with five second delay, so each game could take approximately one hour. This is a casual tournament, the event is not rated and no membership is required.

Prizes: Individual prizes in five sections will be awarded to the top three players in each section: Grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 and Adult. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult. Sportsmanship prizes and participation gifts as well.

Team Prizes: A group of two or more players from the same school, club or family can also sign up as a team. Team members can play in different sections.

Food: Is permitted in the lobby only; seating is available. Covered drinks are permitted in the entire library.

Schedule: 9:00 am to 9:30 am: Check In and Registration. Rounds ASAP with 30 minute lunch break. Awards ceremony estimated around 3:30 pm, could be earlier or later.

Registration: Please pre-register if possible! This helps allow a faster check-in and start of the first round. To pre -register, call the Library at 262-564-6130. This event will be limited to the first 80 participants.

Late Arrivals, Early Departures: Late arrivals will join the tournament in the next round (space permitting). Players may leave for 1 or more rounds and then return to play in later rounds. Notify the Tournament Director of any late arrivals, early departures, or returning players.

Equipment: Chess sets will be provided in the playing area. Bring chess clocks if you have them (optional). Bring pen or pencil if you want to take notation. Taking notation is optional.

Parking: Free parking available on-site. 

Smoking: SMOKING AND VAPING IS NOT PERMITTED

WI-FI: Free Wireless Internet is available!
