Dolson, Froelich, Delay, Henderson and Fei Set the Early Tour Pace

With the conclusion of the Illinois Chess Tour’s second event, the Greater Peoria Open, five players are now halfway to a free drink at ICA’s annual banquet! Carl Dolson, Jim Froelich, Joe Delay, S.E. Henderson Jr., and Andrew Yueyang Fei have each played in both Tour events and are likely to earn at least first level prizes for their steady participation in this year’s Tour. Any player who participates in four of the nine Tour events earns the free beverage.
These five players also dominate the early standings and have a leg up on the performance prizes, which include $900.00 in cash and plaques for the top five in each section.
To be eligible for Tour prizes, players must join or renew their ICA membership by the fifth Tour event, which this year will be the Chicago Class on July 20-22. As long as membership is secured by then, all points earned in any of the nine Tour events will count toward a player’s score.
