NACA 23rd Invitational Under Way

The 23rd edition of the NACA Invitational Chess Tournament is under way at the Holiday Inn in Skokie.

Young Superstar player IM Ray Robson is leading the tournament with an impressive 3.5/4 which includes a win over strong GM Izoria.

This month's event is rare since it is a swiss tournament that was open to any players. Cost of entry depended on how big your rating was.

Sevan Muradian Organiser of this event who is very commited to helping players achieve both IM and GM norms by staging these tournaments has drawn a very strong field for this event which includes 4 GM's and a slew of other Titled players.

Of note in the standings below are the following. Young Superstar player IM Ray Robson is leading the tournament with an impressive 3.5/4 which includes a win over strong GM Izoria. Tied for second is Michael Thaler who is certainly an up and coming player who I have no doubt will one day become an IM maybe even a GM. Below the standings are listed the pairings for Round 5 of the event. Thaler V Robson on board one should be great as well as Finegold V Kacheishvili on board 2. IM Ben Finegold is the strongest IM in North America and should become a GM soon.

Local GM's Mitkov and Amanov as well as IM Elect Felecan lead the Chicago charge with 2.5/4
